This position is responsible for performing a variety coordination and support tasks associated with fiber network protection and locating nationwide. The Locate Screening Coordinator plays a vital role in preventing damage to underground utilities by ensuring efficient and accurate communication and coordination between 811 agencies, excavators, locators, and utility companies. This position will support multiple project directors/managers, and may report to the SVP of Operations.

- 811 Ticket Management:
- Receiving and processing 811 locate requests.
- Ensuring accurate and timely transmission of requests to locators.
- Maintaining detailed records of locate requests.
- Communication:
- Communicating with 811 agencies, excavators, locate companies, and other stakeholders.
- Answering inquiries and resolving locate-related issues.
- Providing clear and concise information regarding locate procedures.
- Preparing and presenting periodic project status updates to customers (written and/or oral)
- Coordination:
- Coordinating locate activities to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Scheduling and tracking locate requests.
- Assisting in resolving conflicts between excavators, locators, 811 agencies, and utility companies.
- Documentation:
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all locate activities.
- Creating and managing spreadsheets for locate tickets.
- Reviewing various documents, such as drawings, maps, photos and test results
- Vendor invoice processing and updating budget records
- Completion and management of all required paperwork.
- Safety:
- Promoting safe digging practices.
- Ensuring compliance with 811 regulations and guidelines.
- Knowledge of 811 Regulations:
- Understanding of state and federal regulations related to underground utility locating.
- Customer Service:
- Experience in customer service.
- Experience:
- Experience with 811, utility locating, or related fields is often preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 0-2 years’ work experience in a project management or coordinator role
- Strong technical educational and work background
- Experience interfacing with local permitting entities, engineering/construction companies preferred
- BS degree in engineering, GIS, mathematics or business management preferred
