Key Responsibilities:
- Operate basic X-ray machines to produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician evaluation.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and informed about the process.
- Position patients correctly and adjust equipment settings to capture accurate images while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Maintain X-ray equipment, performing routine checks and reporting any issues to the clinic manager.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards, including proper shielding and equipment calibration.
- Follow physician orders and adhere to clinic policies for imaging procedures.
- Accurately document patient imaging in electronic medical records (EMR) and maintain imaging logs.
- Assist with inventory management of X-ray supplies and related equipment.
- Support the clinical team with additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a basic X-ray technician program is preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Florida Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BMO) license required.
- Experience:
- Previous experience as an X-ray machine operator or in a similar role preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of X-ray equipment operation and safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and EMR use.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist patients with mobility when necessary.
- Capability to lift and move equipment as needed.
