About Us

At Verogy, our mission is to "Impact Positive Change" for our clients, employees, and the environment. We operate based on a set of core values focused on driving positive, productive, and inclusive behavior. Our commitment to excellence and innovation drives us to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge solar projects that make a tangible impact on the environment and the communities we serve.

Your Impact

As a Project Engineer at Verogy, you will play a crucial role in the Pre-NTP phase of our Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and utility-scale solar projects. Your expertise in project management, design coordination, and interconnection processes will ensure our projects progress seamlessly from initial design through pre-construction readiness.

By overseeing QA/QC, design reviews, vendor deliverables, and interconnection milestones, you will directly contribute to Verogy’s mission of delivering industry-leading renewable energy solutions. Your efforts will be instrumental in maintaining project timelines, optimizing designs, and ensuring a smooth transition into the construction phase.

This is a hybrid role based in West Hartford, CT, offering a mix of remote work and in-office collaboration. Candidates should expect to work in-office at least two days a week to engage with team members, attend meetings, and support collaborative projects. The on-site commitment for the first 3-6 months in the role may be higher due to job-specific training.

Your Role:

Project Oversight & Coordination

·       Manage solar projects through the Pre-NTP phase, ensuring all necessary steps are completed before construction begins.

·       Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking milestones for design, interconnection, permitting, and vendor deliverables.

·       Work cross-functionally with internal teams (engineering, development, procurement) to align project goals.

QA/QC & Design Management

·       Conduct quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews on project designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, NEC, and local regulations.

·       Prepare system production reports and perform analysis to ensure system production optimization.

·       Review and validate engineering deliverables, including site plans, electrical designs, and structural analysis.

·       Coordinate with external engineering firms to ensure timely and accurate design submissions.

Interconnection & Permitting Support

·       Drive the interconnection process by working with utilities, preparing and submitting applications, ensuring timely approvals, and resolving technical challenges.

·       Collaborate with permitting teams to ensure projects meet all regulatory and environmental requirements.

Vendor & Procurement Coordination

·       Manage vendor deliverables, ensuring on-time submission and compliance with project specifications.

·       Assist in pricing negotiations and scope evaluations for key project components.

·       Track material lead times and proactively address supply chain risks.

Client Coordination & Communication

·       Engage with building owners and landowners to discuss project details, timelines, and coordination efforts.

·       Effectively communicate technical and high-level project information to clients, ensuring transparency and alignment.

·       Be comfortable with frequent face-to-face and virtual meetings with clients, addressing their concerns and providing project updates.

Contracted Project & Pre-Construction Support

·       Support contracted projects up to the point of Notice to Proceed (NTP), ensuring seamless project execution readiness.

·       Provide clear documentation and technical support for the handoff to construction teams.

What You’ll Bring:

·       2 years of experience in solar project engineering, project management, or a related role.

·       Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

·       Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, design reviews, interconnection requirements, and permitting.

·       Experience with project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar).

·       Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, or other solar design software is a plus.

·       Familiarity with NEC, local electrical codes, interconnection processes, and permitting requirements.

·       Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineers, developers, vendors, and utilities.

·       Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
