Position Overview
The Data Analyst position will be part of the Data Scientists team under the Customer Insights & Analytics team within Verra Mobility's commercial business unit. Candidate will work closely with data scientists and analysts to support internal teams build queries, examine data, and pull system information to support key stakeholders in Business Operations. The candidate will be a data detective responsible for working with multiple databases to obtain, organize, merge, and troubleshoot data. This role requires significant experience working with SQL and Excel with a fine eye for detail and ability to present findings to both internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do
- Utilize basic business acumen to help solve business problems and aptitude to learn how products interact within different client and vendor setups
- Responsible for analyzing and downloading data from multiple and diverse relational databases, flat files, Access databases, and other data sources
- Able to identify key business impacts and give presentations based on analyzing the data through importing, merging, cleaning, transforming, validating and/or pivoting datasets
- Built predictive models, and provide business recommendations based on data-driven findings
- Build queries to monitor health of systems and processes
- Ensure deliverables and stated objectives are met by understanding business requirements
- Communicate and work closely with teams to gain in-depth understanding of the daily business needs and develop reporting solutions to meet those needs
- Proactively create relevant and useful reports to increase department performance
- Develop and update both standard and ad-hoc reports, scorecards, dashboards, and analyses
- Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or a related field
- Minimum 2 years directly related experience required
- Advanced skill and experience with MS Excel (Formulas, Vlookup, Power Pivot Tables, Building Macros)
- Proficiency in MS SQL Server and Oracle database
- Experience identifying patterns and trends with datasets
- Strong reporting automation experience to build reports, scorecards and dashboards
- Experience with Oracle databases and SQL statement creation required
- Strong facilitation, organization and communication skills required
- Strong analytic, strategic, and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to deliver results work in a fast-paced, team environment under tight deadlines
- Financial or accounting experience a plus
- VBA a plus
- Python a plus
