Precast Concrete Laborer - Hiring Immediately
About us: An established precaster with over 10 years of history, we manufacture standard precast concrete products, specializing in retaining walls and traffic barrier applications. Our company is growing, and we are building a team of skilled, dedicated individuals that are committed to producing a quality product achieving our goals.
Summary: Assists in all activities of preparation, production and handling of precast concrete manufacturing by performing the following duties personally.
Job Function:
- Prepares and constructs precast forms/molds daily per specification utilizing hand and power tools.
- Assembly and tying of rebar cages and mesh cages.
- Works in placement of fresh concrete in molds: vibrating, finish troweling, and all associated tasks.
- Plant cleanliness: Conducts daily cleaning and organization of plant floor and yard area, casting beds, workstations, tool and supply areas.
- Follows all company standard operational procedures, quality policies, company, and safety policies.
Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Speak in English.
- Must agree to and follow standards of conduct and attendance guidelines.
- Proven work history in a similar or related field including construction laborer, warehouse, highway maintenance, landscaping, is a plus.
Knowledge skills and attributes:
- The ability to learn (coachable), organize and prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, work independently.
- The ability to work with mechanical concepts and to apply concepts to practical situations.
- Strong ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and peers to achieve daily production goals.
- Will be expected to use sound judgment, self-drive and honesty in carrying out the functions of the job.
- Will be expected to maintain current knowledge of precast plant techniques and procedures.
- Ensure safe work environment in compliance with all safety policy and procedures always using appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Works well in all climates, both indoors and outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions
- The ability to lift 50 lbs
- Will be expected to be proficient in quality control related items.
- Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time throughout work shift.
- Operate basic hand & power tools.
- Check forms while concrete is being placed.
- Operate fork and other equipment associated with production.
- Pour & trowel finish concrete.
