We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable IT Support Technician to act as the on-the-ground support for our Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. In this role, you will assist with basic technical support, perform routine IT tasks, and serve as the hands and eyes for remote engineers. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as on-site or remote hands for troubleshooting hardware and network issues at direction of senior technicians.
- Provide first-level support for end-users, including resolving common software, hardware, and connectivity issues.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks, such as setting up workstations, creating user accounts, and managing basic permissions.
- Perform routine checks and reporting (e.g., confirming backups ran, checking device status).
- Document issues and solutions in the ticketing system accurately.
- Communicate status updates and escalate issues when necessary.
- Support inventory tracking for IT hardware and peripherals.
- Follow and enforce basic IT and security best practices under supervision.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 1–3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a related field (internships or part-time experience welcome).
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Office 365.
- Familiarity with common IT tools and concepts (e.g., VPNs, printers, antivirus, file sharing).
- Good troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or certifications like CompTIA A or Network are a plus).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to Active Directory or similar identity platforms.
- Experience using a help desk or ticketing system.
- Interest in growing into more advanced IT roles.
