What are we looking for?
This position is responsible for the extraction and transformation of data used to calculate rates by utilizing various financial reporting tools such as profitability, cost, claims expense, forecasting, budgeting, performance metrics, and business drivers.

As a result, Associates must explicitly adhere to all data security guidelines established within the Company’s Privacy & Security Training Program.

What are we looking for?
This position is responsible for the extraction and transformation of data used to calculate rates by utilizing various financial reporting tools such as profitability, cost, claims expense, forecasting, budgeting, performance metrics, and business drivers.
Where you will have an impact
- Analyze various rate plans utilizing a company’s history to determine appropriate rate plan and benefits costs
- Produce reports, trend analysis, and cost projections to be used for contract negotiations and business decisions
- Review and prepare standard and non-standard client utilization and other analysis (calculating expected income vs. actual premiums paid, for major clients., product mix, out of pocket spend, invoice but not realized claims, loss ratio, in/out network, forward looking budgets/forecast, cost drivers, and performance metrics as applicable)
- Work with internal and external customers as appropriate to gather information to clarify inconsistent, incorrect or missing information
- Provide analytical support to Sales, Finance, Client Management and senior management to meet financial reporting deadlines, client report requests justification for rate increases, and cost projections or budget/forecasts on an ad hoc basis
- Develop and maintain reports for contractual obligations with providers and/or managed care clients
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the data elements, definitions and relationships used in required business analysis and report development
- Responsible for monitoring trends, the development and supporting rationale of rates as well as RFP responses, rate development and documentation
- Utilize various models & quantitative skills to underwrite rates coupled with justification to include an executive summary and impact financials
- Work under general supervision and relies on experience and independent judgment to identify risks and accomplish goals
- Preferred bacheor’s in related field or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures used in underwriting
- Minimum of One (1) year related experience
- Proficiency in MicroSoft Office
- Knowledge and experience in the insurance, health, or vision care industry preferred
