Edge Band Machine Operator:
Looking for a full time Edge Bander Operator. Versatile runs (3) Edge banding machines a Brandt and Homag. Versatile manufactures all wood products, experience with wood products is required.
Job Summary: Sets up and operates Brandt or Homag edge banding machine that applies laminate and veneer on office furniture and other products
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Read job tickets to determine product size, color of laminate/veneer, type of banding and quantity.
- Examine due dates for production jobs
- Examines material for quality defects in laminate or veneer
- Must perform basic/minor maintenance activities such as switching blades, scrapers, glue, cleaning and report any issues to the maintenance personnel
- Inspect final product for chipped banding, short banding, high banding, chattered banding etc.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Other Qualifications:
- Able to use a tape measurer for both metric and English and operate hand tools
- Knowledge of laminate and wood/veneer finishing
- Prior experience working in a wood shop or production environment
- Contour or hand edge banding experience is a plus
- Routinely lift up to 50 lbs.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation:
- Competitive compensation will be experienced based
- Standard schedule is (4) 10 hour shifts: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30PM, with overtime on Fridays if necessary
- Paid Vacation & Benefits such as health, Dental & Vision are provided by the company once minimum employment term is met. Eligibility for 401K participation after a year of employment.
