Paint Prep Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paint Prep professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the auto restoration and painting process, ensuring that vehicles are properly prepared for painting. This position requires a strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools, and an eye for detail to deliver high-quality results.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
• Utilize airless paint spraying equipment to apply primer and paint as needed.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify areas needing repair or additional preparation.
• Assist in buffing and polishing finished surfaces to achieve a flawless appearance.
• Collaborate with mechanics and other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Keep detailed records of work performed and materials used for each vehicle.

Skills

• Proficiency in auto restoration techniques and processes.
• Experience in auto painting, including familiarity with various types of paint and finishes.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to understand vehicle systems and components.
• Ability to effectively use hand tools and painting equipment.
• Knowledge of auto estimating practices is a plus.
• Attention to detail is essential for achieving high-quality results.
• Previous experience in a dealership or mechanic setting is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
