The Director of Manufacturing Operations (Dir of Ops), oversees the safety, production, inventory/receiving, maintenance, and shipping functions across the Milwaukee business unit. This role is responsible for helping to establish and manage the annual manufacturing and facility maintenance budgets. In conjunction with the VP of Manufacturing, the Dir of Ops establishes short and long term capital plan investment strategies for Manufacturing and maintenance, ensures facilities, materials, and equipment meet functional and regulatory requirements in support of Manufacturing, and sets and manages key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the site and to ensure cost-effective delivery, meeting current and future customer demands.

Personnel Management
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Be a champion for safety in all aspects of work at the Milwaukee site.
- Ensures all employees understand and support the site vision and live the key values inherent in our company culture.
- Develop and implement staffing plans through capacity and labor planning activities, including writing justifications for personnel additions.
- Accountable for effective performance management and leadership of all personnel at the site- this includes performance reviews, goal-setting, production goals, disciplinary action, career development, and succession planning.
- Provide thoughtful and constructive coaching to improve performance and develop and optimize individual and team performance.
- Administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) effectively with all hourly employees in Production, Warehouse, and Delivery Driver roles.
- Play a leading role in the Capital Expenditure Control System, including capital planning, cost tracking, and ongoing monitoring of strategy effectiveness.
- Effectively manage RFQ process and act as Project Manager of large capital projects.
- Responsible for strategic capacity planning for the anticipated future growth of the company.
- Accountable for quality performance through the establishment of documented standards and fostering a culture of quality performance throughout the site.
- Identify opportunities to increase production capacity, optimize asset performance, and maintain operational flexibility/agility while minimizing unnecessary costs.
- Production Capacity Management
- Work with the Planning Team to develop improved demand forecasts to allow for better level-loading of personnel and assets.
- Develop and implement documented standard operating procedures for all manufacturing operations.
- Develop methods and establish systems to track and optimize productivity through work standards, monitored metrics, and performance targets to ensure an effective return on assets.
- Evaluate production schedules and labor requirements to provide work direction, effectively balance labor resources, and provide feedback on planning.
- Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, Manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and prevent operational delays.
- Perform duties as a key member of the Emergency Response Team.
- Obtain training and awareness to qualify as an alternate Qualified Individual (QI) for spill response incidents.
- Lead the site in company Safety Programs: Safety WO Systems Management, Steering Team Member, and Safety Committee involvement.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- 10 years experience in a manufacturing facility
- 7 years in cross-functional operational leadership
- 3 years experience within a union environment
- 7 years experience managing a large staff
