Automotive Product Lead- Troy Michigan
V2X is seeking an automotive technical supervisor responsible for motivating, leading and supporting geographically dispersed repair technicians in a manufacturing environment. This is a working supervisor position, responsible for tracking float count, vehicles repaired per technician, schedules, deliverables, and team planning activities. This position requires extensive customer interaction and support. As well as coordination of shift coverage, tracking proper repairs, mentoring and coaching repair technicians and at times operating as a member of the repair team diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
This position requires meeting or exceeding customer launch support deadlines, repair goals and delivery milestones and ensuring team coverage for the manufacturing customer. As the working supervisor, it will be necessary to review and support the repair team and provide Hands-on mentoring, coaching and technical assistance during the on-site support sessions.
As the liaison between the program manager, automotive repair team and customer, the successful candidate will assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality and client satisfaction goals and objectives.
Additional Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Liaise with clients to identify and gain consensus on requirements, clearly define scope and deliverables
- Intake new work and assist with developing scope, schedule and cost estimates
- Assign work and monitor deliverables of team members in areas that include schedule, and quality of service, while ensuring adherence to common processes and best practices
- Maintain up-to-date plans and schedules for internal and external program deliverables
- Ensure budgets are adhered to and potential cost overruns are contained
- Serve as a "go to for questions and guidance" for day-to-day items for the trainers and developers
- Participate in internal/external meetings, and other launch-related activities
Required Skills:
Prior Supervisory experience leading a geographically dispersed workforce
Minimum of 5 years related automotive/manufacturing industry/OEM assembly plant experience
Demonstrated knowledge of automotive systems from an advanced diagnostics perspective including electrical repair procedures
Ability to step in and support the team as needed for repair activities for on-site support (1st, 2nd or 3rd shift as needed)
Ability to research and track the customer's build schedule to ensure team coverage
Ability to read and interpret a digital multimeter, OEM Scan Tool and other automotive related diagnostic test equipment used in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret early engineering level electrical schematic diagrams
Strong organizational skills, including time management and the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
Ability to interface with diverse teams, engineers and UAW personnel
Ability to report and track the teams repair goals ensuring team coverage and customer support needs are met.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PPT and Excel)
Valid Driver's License
Travel is required. Upwards of 50% depending upon launch and team support needs
Ability to work independently of supervision
US Citizenship with a valid US passport or ability to obtain a US passport

Required Education
- Associated Degree in Automotive Technology, engineering or other related disciple required
- Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Technology, engineering or other related disciple preferred.
