POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Facilities Program Manager at Vertex Education is a leadership role responsible for ensuring operational excellence across multiple campuses. This position focuses on conducting campus inspections, recruiting and developing Campus Facility Managers, and overseeing the effective management of facility assets. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in facilities operations, a passion for mentorship, and a commitment to maintaining Vertex Education’s high standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Campus Quality and Vendor Management
- Conduct regular Campus Quality Assurance and Training (CQAT) inspections to ensure campuses meet Vertex Education’s safety, cleanliness, and functionality standards.
- Audit quality of nighttime cleaning crews to ensure janitorial services meet cleanliness and hygiene expectations.
- Identify and address areas for improvement in facility operations during inspections, providing actionable recommendations.
Training and Development
- Develop and deliver targeted training programs for Facility Managers, focusing on key areas such as safety, regulatory compliance, maintenance, and leadership skills.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to Facility Managers, fostering professional growth and high performance.
Asset Management
- Oversee the management of facility asset tracking, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and security systems, ensuring optimal functionality and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate asset inventories and ensure proper scheduling for preventive maintenance and lifecycle management.
- Provide strategic guidance for long-term facility asset planning and capital improvement projects.
General
- Must have a strong working relationship and timely communication with the school administration and facility team.
- Perform all other duties of a similar nature or level.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Certifications & Experience
Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities operations, with hands-on expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and security systems.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in training, supervising, and recruiting facility teams.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple campus priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regular local travel between campuses is required.
- This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 50 pounds) on occasion.
- This position may require standing for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping, and long periods of concentration.
