POSITION OVERVIEW :
The instructional designer II understands how people learn and designs experiences to improve learning. The instructional designer collaborates with subject matter experts to design and develop engaging, instructionally sound, learning materials for K-12 courses to improve student learning while maintaining compliance with standards. The instructional designer cultivates and maintains collaborative professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, and analyzes learning and performance data to ensure continuous quality improvement.

- Develops partnerships and works collaboratively with subject matter experts during analysis, design, and development to produce quality learning materials within established timeframes while accurately representing content and applying appropriate, sound instructional design principles.
- Creates engaging learning activities and compelling learning content that enhance the learning experience.
- Applies best practices and current research in learning theories and instructional design methodologies.
- Applies an innovative mindset to solving learning design problems.
- Creates supporting materials and media (audio, video, simulations) as necessary.
- Creates storyboards for media production.
- Ensures all designed materials meet compliance and legal guidelines.
- Tracks projects and manages milestone achievements using a prescribed workflow methodology.
- Manages an aggressive schedule of learning content development and curriculum revisions.
- Uses data to inform improvements.
- Ensures diverse student needs are accommodated through an intentional application of universal design and accessibility best practices.
