POSITION OVERVIEW :
The Workday Technical Lead is responsible for overseeing the technical architecture, integrations, security, and system governance of Workday, ensuring it operates efficiently and aligns with organizational priorities. This role provides technical oversight and guidance, working closely with Workday Analysts and third-party vendors to execute solutions that enhance system performance and scalability. As the primary Workday technical contact, they manage vendor relationships, troubleshoot technical issues, and drive the Workday technical roadmap to optimize workflows and implement new features. By ensuring a secure, well-integrated, and high-performing Workday environment, this role plays a critical part in supporting the organization’s long-term business goals.
Essential Functions :
1. Workday Technical Oversight & Governance
- Provide technical leadership on Workday’s architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and best practices.
- Guide the design, development, and execution of Workday integrations, reports, and security frameworks.
- Establish and enforce technical governance, coding standards, and system best practices.
- Evaluate and implement new Workday features to improve efficiency and functionality.
2. Integration & System Management
Oversee and provide technical guidance on Workday integrations, including Workday Studio, EIB, and web services—leveraging internal teams and vendors for execution.Serve as the escalation point for troubleshooting technical issues and optimizing system performance.Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and synchronization between Workday and external systems.Collaborate with IT teams to maintain secure and compliant system integrations.3. Security & Compliance
Lead Workday security model design and administration, ensuring appropriate access controls.Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.Provide guidance on segregation of duties and security role assignments for Workday users.4. Vendor & Organizational Alignment
Act as the primary point of contact for Workday and third-party vendors, managing support and implementation efforts.Ensure that Workday’s technical strategy aligns with organizational priorities and goals.Oversee vendor contract execution, performance, and service-level agreements (SLAs).Facilitate collaboration between Workday Analysts, support vendors, and internal technical teams.5. Technical Roadmap & Continuous Improvement
Own and drive the Workday technical roadmap, focusing on system optimization and efficiency.Lead planning and execution of Workday upgrades, enhancements, and new module implementations.Monitor Workday’s release cycles and recommend adoption of relevant updates.Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and system innovation.Required Qualifications :
5 years of Workday experience, with a focus on technical integrations, security, and system architecture.3 years of experience managing Workday integrations, including oversight of third-party vendors.Experience leading Workday technical projects, such as system upgrades, module deployments, or optimization initiatives.Strong understanding of Workday security frameworks, role-based access controls (RBAC), and data governance.Experience troubleshooting Workday integrations, reports, and technical configurations at an enterprise level.Workday certifications in Integrations, Security, or relevant modules (or the ability to obtain them within a set timeframe).Be excited to be a part of our team and grow your career with us!
