Human Resource Generalist

Our Non-Profit client has an immediate need for a Human Resources Generalist to join their dedicated team. Committed to making a difference in their Brooklyn community. They are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support and enhance their HR initiatives and help cultivate a positive and productive work environment.

Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary: 70K – 85K

The ideal candidate will manage a range of HR functions, from benefits administration to employee recruitment, and will foster a positive and productive work environment. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and HR management skills, with a focus on compliance, employee development, and organizational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and addressing employee inquiries.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and ensure continuous growth.
  • Manage social media related to HR initiatives and enhance internal communications.
  • Administer and maintain the HR system (Paycom) for effective data management.
  • Support and lead change management efforts within the organization.
  • Handle recruitment, onboarding, and performance management, ensuring a smooth hiring process.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and management, providing guidance on employee development, coaching, and recognition.
  • Develop and maintain personnel policies and ensure compliance with best practices and legal changes.
  • Manage employee leaves of absence, short-term disability, worker's compensation, and PTO.
  • Coordinate employee benefits, working closely with health insurance providers to resolve claims.
  • Oversee the full recruitment cycle, from job postings to onboarding new hires.
  • Assist with payroll administration and ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and ensure all HR records comply with legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding HR matters.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and provide excellent customer service to employees and leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in benefits administration and training development.
  • Familiarity with HR systems (Paycom preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of change management principles and HR best practices.
  • Experience in recruiting, payroll, employee relations, and compliance.
  • SPHR certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience required.

Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
