We are seeking a skilled and passionate Apigee Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining APIs using the Google Cloud Apigee platform. You will play a critical role in ensuring the scalability, security, and reliability of our API infrastructure, enabling seamless integration with our applications and partner systems.
Responsibilities:
API Development and Design:
- Design and develop RESTful APIs using Apigee X/Edge.
- Create and manage API proxies, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Develop reusable shared flows for common API functionalities (e.g., authentication, authorization, logging, error handling).
- Implement API specifications using OpenAPI/Swagger.
API Management and Security:
- Manage the entire API lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Implement and enforce API security policies, including authentication (OAuth, API keys) and authorization.
- Monitor API performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Manage API traffic and implement rate limiting and throttling policies.
- Integration and Cloud Architecture:
- Integrate APIs with various backend systems, databases, and cloud services.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions, leveraging Apigee and other Google Cloud services.
- Work with hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and product managers.
- Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.
- Performance and Monitoring:
- Monitor API performance using tools such as Splunk, or cloud monitoring tools.
- Optimize API performance, and troubleshoot performance issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing, developing, and managing APIs using Google Cloud Apigee X/Edge.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in JSON, XML, and other data formats.
- Experience with API security concepts and protocols (OAuth, API keys, JWT).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform(GCP), AWS, or Azure.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Javascript, or Python
