Job Description:
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager with a background in civil sitework to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with 2 years of sales experience, a solid foundation in civil sitework, and excellent communication skills. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving growth, developing client relationships, and supporting the bidding process for civil sitework projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients in the civil sitework industry, including private sector projects.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and lead generation within the construction field.
- Collaborate closely with estimators and project teams to understand project scopes and requirements, ensuring competitive and accurate bids.
- Self-organize and effectively manage time to meet sales targets and deadlines.
- Foster strong communication and coordination between internal teams, including estimators, project managers, and field staff.
- Report regularly to leadership on business development efforts, progress, and performance.
- Use strong negotiation skills to close deals, secure contracts, and ensure successful project initiation.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and meetings to network and promote the company's civil sitework services.
- Understand and navigate the specific needs and challenges of civil sitework projects, such as grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and earthwork.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of sales experience, specifically in construction related services.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to self-organize, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in cold calling and developing business leads in the construction sector.
- Knowledge of civil sitework projects, including the ability to understand and work with estimators on bidding.
- Proven ability to collaborate and work effectively with teams, both internally and externally.
- Strong understanding of the civil sitework industry, including private sector project requirements.
- Established relationships within the civil sitework industry are a plus.
- A proactive, solution-oriented attitude with a focus on growth and development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in civil sitework, including grading, earthwork, utilities, drainage, and paving.
- Established relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in the construction industry.
