Role And Responsibilities
- Operate cranes in a safe and effective manner.
- Observe stipulated safety codes at all times.
- Assist in unloading and assembling of crane or other hoisting equipment.
- Maneuver and position loads over designated in a smooth, safe manner.
- Assist in the installation of boom and hoisting cables on required equipment.
- Perform daily inspection of cranes and identify potential problems.
- Check and maintain cables and bands on hoisting mechanisms.
- Provide general maintenance of assigned equipment .
- Work closely with Foreman, Pile Drivers, Welders, etc. to complete projects in a safe and efficient manner.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- A valid driver’s license.
- Capable of successfully passing a crane operation certification test.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to follow guidance and instructions.
- Ability to work extended hours and some weekends.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Two (2) years’ experience operating cranes on land and/or barges, or other equivalent experience.
- Read and understand crane load charts to determine the load and radius capabilities of a crane.
- Prior experience operating other heavy machinery preferred, but not required.
- Strong hand-eye coordination.
- Sound understanding of safety guidelines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour
