Duties
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor progress to ensure effective treatment outcomes.
- Support patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve strength, flexibility, and mobility.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, care plans, and exercises to be performed at home.
- Document patient care activities accurately and maintain comprehensive records of treatments provided.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop discharge planning strategies that facilitate smooth transitions for patients.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or a related field from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Experience in physical therapy settings such as outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and rehabilitation practices relevant to various populations
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating compassion and empathy towards patients.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and the development of individualized care plans is a plus.
