To meet our growth goals, we are adding a Production Worker to the team. In this role, a Sheet Metal Fabricator will fabricate, build, and mount various types of HVAC metal structures and duct work ready for installation at various job sites. Must be able to maintain schedule and output of demand of production.
Job Duties:
- Consults blueprints, duct work orders, and/or schematics to safely construct specified structure; develops additional sketches if needed.
- Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strength.
- Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions.
- Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.
- Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.
- Performs assigned work on assembly lines such as punching holes for screws or bending gutters.
- Uses appropriate machinery and software applications to complete assigned jobs.
- Coordinates required shutdowns and startups of equipment with other departments after sheet metal installation.
- Develops and maintains records for projects and repairs.
- Maintains clean and orderly workspace.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to complete sheet metal projects with accuracy and precision.
- Ability to safely use machinery and tools involved in sheet metal work.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand product assignment.
- Basic knowledge of method, equipment and tools used in the HVAC service and installation trade.
- Ability to accurately measure. Ability to multitask.
- Able to understand and manage job deadlines.
- Basic knowledge principles and practices of HVAC repair, maintenance, and installation.
- Basic knowledge of standard equipment and tools related to the HVAC trade.
- Basic knowledge of various mechanical systems related of the HVAC trade.
- Basic knowledge of various electrical and control systems related to the HVAC trade.
- Basic knowledge of operating and repair characteristics of various HVAC systems.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
- Comfortable with ladders and heights
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. On occasion, lift and/or move more than 75 pounds with assistance.
