Tower Technician

Duties:

• Assisting crews working on tower, roof-top, and ground-based job sites
• General labor tasks (transporting materials on job sites, general landscaping/housekeeping, etc.)
• Assist with maintenance/installation of wireless cell sites which involves working with antennas and mounts, cable tray, ice bridge, weatherproofing, entry port
• Installation, TMAs, RRU’s, RET system installation, coax cabling, connectors, emergency generator, batteries/power equipment, the AC units, microwave dishes, fiber installation, GPS antenna etc.
• Additional duties as required.

Position Requirements:

• Have basic computer skills.
• Must be reliable.
• Must have your own set of basic hand tools or be willing to purchase one from VTS.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a driving record that is within guidelines of VTS Driver Insurability Agreement.
• Must be comfortable driving a full size truck and pulling/backing a trailer.
• Must be able to work OT and weekends as required.
• Comfortable working at heights up to 350 feet.
• Ability to travel for extended periods of time
• At all times, maintain safe work practices and follow company, client, and governing body (OSHA, FAA, DOT, etc.) safety and operations policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand continuously, reach frequently, & bend at waist and knees frequently.
• Requires working outdoors in all types of weather.
• Ability to stoop, crawl, squat and lift 80 lbs.; and be able to lift up to 80 lbs. overhead occasionally.
• Requires good finger and hand dexterity to utilize various hand tools in a repetitive manner.
