About the Role :
Join our team as a Veteran Services Coordinator and make a meaningful impact in the lives of service members veterans and their families. In this role you will provide critical resources consultation and assistance to deliver essential services including suicide prevention substance abuse support homelessness prevention and crisis intervention. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with federal state and local agencies to ensure veterans receive the care and support they deserve.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct indepth intakes to assess veterans physical abilities service history mental health exposure to trauma and other pertinent information.
- Assist veterans in developing Individual Recovery Plans (IRPs) and setting achievable goals based on intake assessments.
- Connect veterans with service providers by facilitating facetoface meetings or accompanying them to appointments.
- Provide EOVSrelated trainings to veterans and community organizations.
- Represent the SAVE and / or SERVE Team at Continuum of Care meetings task forces and public forums.
- Advocate for veterans rights and benefits with community providers federal / state agencies courts employers and landlords.
- Attend case management meetings training sessions and professional development courses to stay informed on veterans issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with service providers to ensure seamless support for veterans.
- Recommend enhancements to policies procedures and systems to improve service delivery.
- Address inquiries from providers the public and EOVS staff regarding veteran services.
- Collaborate with local municipal Veteran Service Officers to support their mission.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.
