What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Engineer - Thermal position at Vertiv?
SUMMARY
Responsible for start ups, maintenance, and emergency repairs of Vertiv Benelux B.V. environmental products, as well as other contracted systems. Required to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, salesmen, distributors, and others within the area. Maintain continuous communications with Call Control and the department Manager/Supervisor.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
- Respond, in a professional manner, to all assigned service calls while on duty
- Read, understand, and comply with all procedures outlined in the Field Procedure Manual
- Perform all work in a safe manner, and in accordance with established company safety policy
- Ensure spare parts are properly accounted for using established parts procedures
- Assist in ensuring that the PM Completion rate is maintained at a min. 90% .
- Assist Call control to schedule, plan and complete start ups using established work flow procedures
- Keep Call Control informed of your schedule and the status of all open jobs
- Maintain the accuracy of the customer listing by reporting errors with the Site Change Form
- Close in WFS daily paperwork in a timely, accurate and complete manner submit weekly paper work in the same manner.
- Report sales or service leads to the proper department
- Support company vision and management decision.
- Use email and other office based programmes.
- Ensure that all ISO 9001:2000 agreed processes are followed.
- As a User, comply with the Company’s ITC policy.
- The employee ensure that any activity, task and responsibility required by role in terms of [Export Compliance], [Import Compliance], [EU Arrivals and Despatching], as well as [Supply Chain Security] is managed and performed in full compliance with the Company International Trade Compliance Regulation certification program itself
QUALIFICATIONS
- City and Guilds in Refrigeration, Refrigerant Safe Handling & Air Conditioning OR BTEC
- Computer Literate
- Previous environmental service experience essential
- Excellent customer service skills
- Starter, ability to effective plan , organise, and manage time effectively
- Valid driving license
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- A significant amount of after hours and weekend work, frequently scheduled with little notice
- Travel possible some works may require an element of over night stay (hotel)
- lifting required ( 35 kg. )
- Participate on the 24/7 on call rota.
- May be required to travel abroad from time to time.
