Responsibilities
Advocacy and Representation:
- Represent the company in interactions with government officials, regulatory agencies, and industry groups.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to influence public policy and regulatory decisions.
- Advocate for the company's positions on legislative and regulatory issues.
- Monitor and analyze regulatory changes in jurisdictions where the company operates.
- Assess the impact of regulatory developments on the company's operations and business strategy.
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies to address regulatory challenges and opportunities.
- Work closely with internal teams, including legal, compliance, and business units, to align advocacy efforts with business objectives.
- Communicate regulatory and legislative developments to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations on government relations activities.
- Participate in industry associations and coalitions to advance the company's interests.
- Collaborate with industry peers to develop joint advocacy initiatives and strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in government relations, public policy, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of regulatory processes and government structures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to develop and execute advocacy strategies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
