POSITION SUMMARY
The Regional Sales Director, Telcom (RSD) is responsible for leading an account management and regional sales support team focused on the performance of Vertiv’s DC Power and Outside Plant business in North America (US and Canada). The RSD’s primary goal is to generate strong, consistent, revenue growth via manufacturer’s representatives for Vertiv’s DC Power and Outside Plant portfolio. The RSD will be responsible for the strategy, tactics, and overall business performance of an assigned regional sales team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Builds, leads, and develops the Vertiv Telcom sales team, creating a culture of high performance.
- Fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
- Develops, presents, and executes on a sales plan for defined regions that ensures attainment of company goals and profitability.
- Recruits, activates, and grows all partners in their assigned territory, including regional development of national accounts.
- Develops and executes strategic channel plans for the DC Power and Outside Plant market.
- Provides accurate feedback to management on wins/losses and trends.
- Coordinates and leads activities with dedicated Inside Sales Rep to maximize our ability to close on new business opportunities.
- Consults with management in developing and implementing a sales and marketing strategy
- Interfaces with local, regional, and national distribution accounts management and sales.
- Determines and oversees local tradeshow selections, scheduling, and coverage.
- Ensures a high caliber customer response and satisfaction.
- Stays updated on evolving industry trends, materials, and technologies to maintain Vertiv’s competitive edge.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 12 years of experience in selling or related roles of increasing responsibility
- 5 years directly leading a sales team to achieve revenue goals.
- Strong communication skills - written, oral, and visual media.
- Strong understanding of customer & market dynamics and requirements.
- Ability to learn and adapt to a rapidly changing market.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Detail oriented with the ability to manage and prioritize leads through multiple channels.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and capable of resolving contract and product issues.
- Understanding of Vertiv’s entire product and services portfolio with a focus on the DC Power and Outside Plant market(s).
- Team player with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects under a heavy travel schedule.
- High degree of independent judgment.
- Ability to work in a matrix management environment and with all levels within the organization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of the Telecommunications industry
- Experience working with DC Power and Outside Plant channel partners
