Vertiv is hiring a Senior Materials & Manufacturing Planning Manager in Anderson, SC who is responsible for planning, purchasing and inventory management to ensure smooth and effective operations. The role is pivotal in ensuring an efficient and optimized supply chain to support production and meet customer demands.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the planning and purchasing of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods to maximize delivery performance while optimizing inventory performance.
- Set aggressive improvement goals and report results on a regular basis.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, production adherence, clear to build, and other key metrics to drive improvement.
- Manage and lead the supply planning aspect of the SIOP process. Work directly with the various operations staff to translate the SIOP data into an actionable materials and inventory plan.
- Manage a team of planners and buyers to increase productivity and drive professional development.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure materials are readily available to meet production schedule
- Identify, share, and implement best in class supply chain practices.
- Develop standard work, policies, and procedures in collaboration with other Vertiv facilities and professional supply chain resources.
- Suggest and lead continuous improvement for your department and others.
- Manage Supplier held inventory programs to improve delivery, reduce lead-times and avoid E&O and risk to Vertiv.
- Work with manufacturing to improve material flow through the plant and increase productivity.
- Drive rigorous operating cadence (Tier Accountability).
- Facilitate effective communication among team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in materials management, planning and purchasing within a manufacturing environment, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibilities.
- 5 years managerial experience.
- Experience in a plant or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work within a matrix management environment.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing supply chain and operational strategies.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production processes, and lean management.
- Proficiency in using operations systems, such as ERP systems, and data analytics platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex business challenges and make sound judgments.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing business environment, handle multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient with MS Word, Project, Excel, Power Point, and other project management software and applications.
- Analytical mindset with the capability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on supply chain management or operations.
- Relevant certifications such as APICS, Six Sigma, or Lean Management
