What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Supervisor position at Vertiv?
Vertiv is currently looking to hire a new Warehouse Supervisor in Anderson, SC. The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for leading the inventory cycle count program and implementing Lean projects within the warehouse to improve business performance in alignment with key initiatives across the organization by identifying and removing processes waste. Must be highly skilled in lean strategy, methodology and tools to instill improvement for the better culture and serve as a change agent able to coordinate all functional areas within warehouse operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform and supervise inventory audits, cycle counts and coordinating the annual physical inventory. Initiate corrective action where process lapses exist, or where established procedures are not effectively maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Maintain records of all variances and adjustments according to established procedures.
- Staff, train, coach, and supervise team members for assigned team, including scheduling work assignments & time off, developing & scheduling training to include required lift truck certifications, developing & setting operational performance standards and goals, completing & delivering performance appraisals, and interviewing for job vacancies.
- Review and revise warehouse SOP’s based on inventory cycle count findings as needed.
- Assist warehouse supervisor in training team members on inventory processes.
- Assist inventory analyst with PFEP and ABCXYZ analysis as needed.
- Develop, leads, and facilitates VOS projects as internal and external KANBAN, point of use, supermarket design, vendor managed inventory.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- Experience in shipping and stockroom environment preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in MS office
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of total quality management principles and use of problem-solving tools
- Education or experience with self-directed work teams, facilitation skills, or training
- Proven material control experience
- Experience supervising and coaching hourly employees
- Knowledge of process improvement methods, manufacturing systems, product and organization
