Chief Engineer / Director of Engineering Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction for missile system development, ensuring seamless integration of guidance, propulsion, avionics, and other components.
- Set engineering standards, lead design reviews, and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager, SMEs, and Business Development to address DoD capability gaps.
- Oversee prototype fabrication, production, and testing.
- Ensure resource planning aligns with project needs.
- Team Management & Customer Interaction
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Delegate tasks, foster collaboration, and drive performance.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, providing updates and defining system requirements.
- Testing, Compliance & Safety
- Oversee design verification, system validation, and flight testing.
- Analyze test data, lead failure investigations, and implement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and government requirements.
- Implement risk management strategies throughout development.
