Job Summary
The Control Panel Technician position is responsible for the physical assembly of electrical control panels, junction boxes, wire harnesses from prints, wiring and testing of control panels for industrial equipment. It is essential to be able to communicate effectively with all team members, leads, builders, engineers, management to ensure productivity targets are met.
Requirements :
- Fabricate controls to print, including layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel
- Mounting of components to back panels and enclosures
- Routing and bundling of wire and cables neatly to meet wiring standards
- Point to point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I / O Modules, VFDs, interfaces, and instrumentation
- Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions
- Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication
- Communicate red line changes to project team for revision prior to completion
- Controls inventory levels by taking part in physical counts; reconciling with data storage system per protocol
- Maintains physical condition of control panel area by ensuring end of day organizing and cleaning duties are performed
- Ability to use AutoCAD is a plusHigh School Diploma or equivalent; technical school attendance preferred
- Ability to understand and work from mechanical layout and electrical drawings
- Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology preferred
