Verus is in search of a Director | Private Markets , to join one of our offices : San Francisco, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA or Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in private markets, specifically with a focus on private equity.
The Director | Private Markets is primarily responsible for sourcing best-in-class fund investment opportunities, performing manager due diligence, generating investment content, and supporting the Private Market Consultant with client service relationships. The Director | Private Markets will provide additional support on a range of other tasks as needed, including but not limited to, drafting effective client presentations and RFP responses by providing data, analyses, and written responses independently. They will take the initiative to develop prospective client relationships in anticipation of building a book of business. They will present big picture research cases, together with findings, conclusions, and recommendations internally and externally, including to client's Boards and Committees. They will incorporate client portfolio considerations and demonstrate the ability to respond to questions effectively and in real time. They will lead all aspects of manager search and research projects, from sourcing through assessment and final presentation internally and externally. They will assist or lead as needed on portfolio construction and analyses, including regular presentations to clients and their committees, recommending investments, pacing plans, and performance updates.
Prerequisites :
- Seven or more years of relevant investment experience in Private Equity gained at an Endowment, Foundation, Retirement plan, Limited Partner, Private Equity Consulting Firm, Fund of Funds, or Private Equity Firm
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or other closely-related field
- Master's degree in finance or MBA preferred and CAIA are desirable
Strong knowledge of Excel and familiarity with databases (i.e. Private-IQ).
Salary : $140,000-$220,000
The base salary range in this job posting represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this specific position and its unique job function within a specific job category. Salary offered to candidates is determined by factoring in market pay for the job function and job category, internal peer equity, education, credentials, relevant skills and expertise, past employment experience, and geographic pay differentials.
