The Member Advocate is responsible for providing transactional and information services to credit union members while achieving sales goals.
Position Responsibilities
Sales:
- Cross sell financial products or refer members to professionals who can assist them.
- Meet or exceed specific individual monthly referral goals.
- Promote and recommend various credit union products such as consumer loans, deposits, mortgages, investments, credit cards, and various electronic services.
- Respond to questions from the members regarding services we provide in a professional friendly manner.
- Attend required sales, services, and department training classes to enhance skill level.
- Additional duties assigned.
- Complete deposit, withdrawal, and services transactions with accuracy and efficiency while following all security procedures.
- Always maintain member confidentiality by verifying all necessary signatures, endorsements, and proper photo identification.
- Maintain appropriate cash drawer supply while staying under set limits.
- Verify and balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift.
- Process and accurately balance member transactions such as: daily mail, night depository, and ATM.
- Order checks through Liberty Check Processing.
- Order, reorder and maintain check cards for members.
- Enroll/modify payroll allocations and ACH per member request.
- Complies with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as it relates to this position.
- Maintain a professional image of the credit union in dealing with members: provide friendly, helpful assistance, upgrade knowledge of financial products and protect member confidentiality.
- Saturday hours are required on a rotating basis, may be asked to work at other Verve Branch locations as needed to meet staffing needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalency, or currently enrolled in high school. Previous cash handling and/or retail experience preferred.
- Able to read and interpret policy and procedures.
- Learn and know product offerings. Stay abreast of new products and services.
- Effective written and verbal skills.
- Basic computer skills, use of standard keyboard, mouse and common software packages.
- Accurate math skills, ability to calculate figures and amounts such as cash denominations.
- Ability to use basic 10-key calculator.
- Complies with all Federal and Credit Union regulations as it relates to this position.
- Requires an outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic team orientated personality.
- Yearly completion of all on-line compliance training as defined by Management.
- Work at a fast pace, attentive to details and quick and accurate in handling them.
- Work Environment : Business office, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand at a desk the majority of the workday; talk or hear; stand or walk occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is typically utilizing a computer, keyboard and phone. May occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds.
