Job Salary: $120K-$125K Plus Sign on Bonus. (Based on Experience)
Job Type: Full Time Direct Hire.
Summary:
Verve Search Group is currently working with a client in St. Albans, Vermont that is seeking a Director of Public Works to join their team. The person in this role will be responsible for the infrastructure and services for the town that furnishes its residents. This includes municipal buildings, streets, town parks, and storm water infrastructures. The client will provide a sign on bonus and relocation assistance for candidates outside of the commutable range.
Duties:
- Respond to resident/public inquiries.
- Communicate with residents promptly to ensure knowledge of all public works’ projects that may impact residents.
- Plan, present, and execute annual operating and capital budgets.
- Oversee four direct reports that includes Parks and Building Maintenance Manager, Mechanic, Road Foreman, and Stormwater Coordinator.
- Monitor and approve all department expenses.
- Oversee, enhance, and maintain towns infrastructure such as filling potholes or cracks in the streets, salting and plowing of roads, upkeep of parks etc.
- Quickly assess and determine necessary course of action in response to emergencies such as sewer system leaks, fallen trees, sinkholes, and other emergencies that affect public streets and works.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field.
- 2 plus years of experience supervising public works’ employees and or prior employment in local government strongly preferred.
- Strong hands on experience working across Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of highway construction and repair methods.
Salary : $120,000 - $125,000
