We are actively seeking a MAINTENANCE/CUSTODIAN to join the team at Madison County 911. This unique position offers above-average pay with regularly scheduled opportunities for pay increases. As the Maintenance/Custodian, you'll be responsible for ensuring that Madison County 911's new building in north Huntsville is clean, disinfected, presentable, and organized utilizing various cleaning equipment and materials to provide a safe, hygienic, and orderly work environment for co-workers and guests visiting the facility. About 20% of your time will be spent on routine maintenance tasks like painting, replacing HVAC filters and light bulbs, plumbing, simple electrical tasks, and grounds upkeep.

CUSTODIAN DUTIES

• Perform maintenance tasks, both scheduled and as needed
• Follow cleaning procedures and schedules
• Clean the interior of buildings, including oors, carpet, rugs, windows, and walls
• Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, oce tools, and phones
• Deep clean facility as needed and directed
• Remove debris and snow from sidewalks
• Empty trash and recycling bins
• Stock and maintain supply rooms
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop oors
• Clean/ sanitize bathrooms (toilets, sinks, and showers)
• Restock disposables (soap, paper towels, etc)
• Clean windows and mirrors
• Operate oor scrubbers
• Dust furniture and xtures
• Perform additional duties as required to keep the facility clean and well-maintained
• Occasionally perform tasks that include loading, unloading, lifting, and moving light-weight materials
• Notify supervisor of unsafe conditions

Requirements

• Maintenance/janitorial experience.
• A High School Diploma/GED is preferred, but not required
• Must be self-motivated to complete work without supervision once trained.
• Must be able to physically lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
• Must be available to work five day shift, 40- hour work weeks, rotating weekends and holidays, to ensure time off for all teammates.
• Must be a US citizen..
• Must have a valid Alabama Driver's License.
