Companion/Caregiver

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Companion to provide essential support and companionship to a young adult with special needs.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Monitoring and supervision
• Provide companionship through engaging conversations, activities, and social interaction to enhance the client's quality of life.
• Support clients with mobility and physical tasks, including lifting when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations including HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist with home community care tasks such as grocery shopping, errands, and transportation to appointments.
• Offer specialized care for individuals with cognitive limitations
• Help with tasks such as cleaning, laundry as needed

Qualifications

• Must have current background checks and adequate clearances (must provide documentation)
• Bilingual in spanish is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
• Certification in CPR is preferred but not required
• Familiarity and Experience working with autism spectrum disorder in strongly preferred
• Experience in social work, special needs education or related fields is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach towards caregiving.

Job will be in a private, residential setting. Individuals with teaching experience are welcome to apply. Pay is fixed but can be negotiated for the right person. Must have copies of essential up to date clearances ready and available. The hiring process will involve 2 rounds of interviews. First initial interview will be done virtually for an informal conversation. Then if all goes well, an in person visit will be set up so that the family can meet the individual being considered. In person interviews regardless if the candidate is hired or not will be monetraily compensated. Contract will be for a period of 6-8 weeks to establish a rapport or relationship with the client. We are looking to hire for the following days and times. Not firm, we have a flexibility in scheduling but generally these are the ranges were looking at:

Wedsndays-Saturdays:

3:00-9:00 PM

Job Types: Contract, Temporary

Pay: From $20.50 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 18 per week
