Associate Product Owner

Reporting to the Senior Product Owner, the Associate Product Owner will play a critical role in supporting the Product Management team in the development and enhancement of our products. You will play a key role in defining product requirements, prioritizing features, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the product meets customer needs and business objectives.

What You’ll Accomplish - Your Performance Objectives

  • Product Vision & Strategy : Assist the Product Owner in defining product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities. Ensure alignment between the product backlog and business goals.
  • Requirements Gathering : Gather and prioritize product and customer requirements, ensuring they are effectively communicated and documented.
  • User Story Development : Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria, collaborating closely with development teams for strong alignment on requirements.
  • Meeting Participation : Actively participate in key meetings, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to maintain project momentum and address any blockers.
  • Product Performance Monitoring : Monitor product performance and gather user feedback to suggest and implement improvements for continuous product enhancement.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to drive product development efforts. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and innovation.
  • Market Analysis : Assist in conducting market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback analysis to inform product decisions. Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities and threats.

Who We’re Looking For - The Personal Competencies That Matter

  • Educational Foundation : You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, providing you with a solid foundation to understand and contribute effectively to product management.
  • Relevant Experience : You bring 2-3 years of experience in a related field, such as business analysis, QA, or project management, enabling you to navigate the complexities of product development and management.
  • Initiative. We lead by example in the Product organization. You will seek proactive solutions to problems or roadblocks and be able to pull people together towards our common goals.
  • Business acumen. You can understand the desired strategic outcomes for Veryon and assist the product team in effectively prioritizing market needs, problems, and solutions with these outcomes in mind.
  • Skilled communicator. You have the ability to be clear and concise in all methods of communication—verbal and written—with an understanding that effective communication is key given the remote state of most of our employees.
  • Analytical and collaborative : Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements by collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Focus : Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and pain points, advocating for the customer throughout the product development process. Champion a customer-centric mindset across the organization to ensure that product decisions are driven by customer value.
  • Organize : Have a basic understanding of agile methodology and the software development lifecycle, and ensure that work stays on track with an attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Tool Proficiency : You are familiar with key product management tools like Jira, Trello, Confluence, and Azure DevOps, helping you manage workflows and keep projects on track.
