What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Inspector position at Vescio Manufacturing International?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Ability to read, interpret and use the information presented in blueprints, routers, and specifications to determine appropriate inspection methods, inspection tools and next steps in the inspection and production processes.
· Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and their relation to inspection per the Y14.5 international standard.
· Detail oriented measurement and inspection ability of all product drawing features to verify conformance of customer requirements using industry standard measuring instruments such as calipers, inter-mics, dial indicator, bore gages, thread gages, OD mics, blade mics, comparator, etc.
· Ability to choose correct measuring tools and inspection methods to ensure the quality of all drawing, router and specification requirements.
· Communicate information to others, maintain inspection files and quality records.
· Perform visual inspection of products looking for cleanliness, damage, missing features, etc.
· Train machine shop operators in the proper interpretation and inspection to produce compliant products.
· Perform Rockwell hardness testing.
· Operate a CMM and interpret the results of existing programs.
· Ability and willingness to train machinists regarding inspection of complex parts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· The ability to perform simple arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division correctly using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
· The ability to accomplish tasks with concern for all areas involved including the ability to notice small inconsistencies and faults in parts and processes to prevent faulty products from leaving the facility.
· The ability to use computer and web-bases systems to input, access, modify and output information.
· The ability to write effectively, to read and understand work documents, to communicate clearly to coworkers and supervisors and to comprehend key pieces of spoken information.
· Ability and willingness to meet company safety protocols, special part handling guidelines, work area cleanliness policies (FOD) and turnaround time (TAT) goals.
· Willingness to demonstrate eagerness, enthusiasm and optimism for work activities and to learn and understand company policies.
· The ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team.
OTHER:
· Related work experience required.
· Production machining experience is a plus.
· Bilingual is a plus.
