The Opportunity:
As a Frontend Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the architectural direction of our frontend systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, guiding engineers to develop scalable, high-performance, and maintainable web applications. This is an exciting opportunity to lead architectural decisions, influence the user experience, and mentor a talented team.
Your Role and Impact:
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex frontend systems and user interfaces for maritime commerce applications.
- Set the technical direction for frontend development, including the adoption of new technologies, design patterns, and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to define and implement architectural standards, ensuring consistency, scalability, and performance across the frontend ecosystem.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to frontend engineers, ensuring the team adheres to best practices and maintains a high level of code quality.
- Drive innovation by staying ahead of industry trends and continuously improving the user experience with modern frontend technologies.
- Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure seamless integration of designs with frontend code, focusing on creating intuitive, user-friendly experiences.
- Influence the broader technical strategy, collaborating with backend architects to ensure that frontend and backend systems integrate effectively, especially in microservice-based architectures.
Our Stack:
We use TypeScript, React Hooks, AWS, and some C# in our day to day but we are code-agnostic and are open to all types of experiences.
Skills/Experience needed to be successful in this role:
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a software engineer with at least 2 in an architectural role
- Proficiency in developing complex frontend applications using modern JavaScript technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.JS
- Proactively stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends, identifying areas of opportunity to improve system performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Proven track record of leading frontend architecture decisions and ensuring the scalability, maintainability, and performance of frontend systems.
- Experience in building distributed, microservice architectures
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Nice to Have Skills:
- Proficiency in developing complex backend services using any object-oriented language
- Experience working in a microservices cloud environment
- Experience creating and contributing to architecture design and documentation
- Proficiency in working with GraphQL APIs
