SPECIALTY COFFEE SHOP HIRING – FOH/BOH Dual Trained

Are you passionate about specialty coffee, food made with fresh ingredients, excellent customer service, and building relationships with those we’re serving in our community? We’re excited to announce we are looking to add another member to our team at our specialty coffee shop in the Fishtown/East Kensington area of Philadelphia at 2401 Frankford Ave! Our menu comprises of locally roasted coffee with seasonal house made syrups, mouthwatering pastries baked locally including gluten-free and vegan options, and incredible breakfast and lunch food made in our back of house kitchen. Great customer service is at our forefront, and we are looking for team players who are friendly, hard-working, and kind. We’re currently hiring for someone to be dual-trained to work front-of-house and back-of-house shifts. Prior experience is not required. Training will be provided for all positions.

Job Expectations:

· Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours a week.

· Must be available to work on Saturdays (Please note: We are closed on Sundays.)

· Deliver friendly, kind “extra mile” customer service to our guests.

· Work together as a team to prepare and serve crafted coffee recipes, teas, pastries, and food items via a variety of prep methods.

· Knowledge of basic math for cash handling and inventory management.

· Operate POS to process orders and cash register with accuracy and efficiency.

· Maintain consistency with preparing recipes.

· Stay knowledgeable about our current coffee and food offerings through tastings and information provided to you by coffee owners/managers.

· Continuously taste product to ensure excellent quality.

· Support others in your team in keeping the shop running smoothly and beautifully. This includes but is not limited to cleaning counters, restocking shelves, washing dishes, clearing dishes, putting away supplies, sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, taking out the trash.

· Existing Food Handler’s Certification or willing to get within 30 days post-hire

· Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

· Ability to lift, push/pull, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds. For example, making and transporting 5 gallon cold brew toddies, bags of coffee, tubs of dishes, large trash bags to the outdoor dumpster.

· Ability to climb a ladder to access and restock inventory, water plants, etc.

· Ability to greet, listen patiently and kindly to customers, and prepare efficiently the order.

· Ability to maintain calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.

· Ability to try products and offer genuine suggestions to guests to curate an amazing experience for them.

· Ability to memorize and reproduce drink recipes and menu ingredients.

· Reliable and punctual.

· Comply with food safety guidelines in all areas of the shop.

· Ability to complete cleaning responsibilities each shift and communicate with team members.

· Adhere to “neat and clean” dress code.

· Welcoming, friendly and kind to guests and team alike.

Shifts/Compensation:

· Dual Trained FOH Barista and BOH Food Prep: $15 Hourly PLUS TIPS!!!
