What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Service Line Team Member position at Vessel Kitchen?
Brief: Service team members are the backbone of our Front of House. These positions are making salads, bowls and plates throughout the shift. Our service team members are responsible for greeting guests and cashiering, handling money and using our point of sale system, as well as preparing orders of fresh foods in an accurate and aesthetically pleasing manner and assisting with other duties as assigned. All team members will be trained on processing all transactions correctly and in a professional manner. Ideal candidates are able to multitask between dine-in, take-out, curbside, and Doordash delivery orders, and can efficiently manage the point of sale system. They are responsible for selling beverages, desserts, and cleanliness of the dining room, bathroom, service frontline and backline.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Providing great customer service
- Knowledgeable on active promotional discounts
- Assist with menu questions
- Input orders and print tickets
- Processing transactions
- Selling beverages, desserts and extras (bread, etc.)
- A strong knowledge of the menu, ingredients, allergy guidelines, and meal preparation
- Good understanding of loyalty rewards program
- Table number knowledge
- Stocking/Maintaining beverage and dessert display and back up inventory
- Reading tickets thoroughly
- Highlighting desserts and beverages on tickets
- Answering phones/taking phone orders
- Food running when needed
- Curbside delivery when needed
- Providing great customer service
- Neatly and accurately preparing plates
- Reading prep lists
- Prep list item completion
- Refilling cold side megatop
- Refilling hot side steamwell
- Refill salad megatop
- Taco toasting
- Restocking greeter area (pens, highlighters, tape, tray liners)
- Assist with silverware(polishing/rollups)
- Continual wiping down service line (Steamwell and Mega Tops a must)
- Bussing dining room & cleanliness
- Bathroom cleanliness
- Support other staff members
- Informing leaders of any low items in greeter area
- Completion of applicable checklists items in 7-tasks
- Cleaning greeter and service line areas
Qualifications/Skills:
- Correct and full uniform during all shifts
- Great communicator
- Great customer service skills
- A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff
- Able to work in a standing position for a long period of time.
- Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
- Able to work in a busy restaurant environment.
- Restaurant experience is a plus.
Reports To: Team Lead, Assistant General Manager, General Manager.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 35 per week
