Overview
We are a small but growing property management company seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The candidate will handle minor to medium-sized repairs and maintenance for up to 200 properties in Buncombe, Haywood, and Henderson counties. This role will also provide routine property maintenance, such as move-in and move-out inspections and quarterly property inspections. The ideal candidate has knowledge of basic plumbing, HVAC, and electrical repairs. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a strong plus, but not required.
Role (Overview of the Position)
- Handle minor to medium-sized maintenance issues at properties in Buncombe, Haywood, and Henderson counties.
- Act as a liaison between the tenants and Vesta PM, building trust and fostering strong relationships with residents.
- During service calls, look for opportunities to enhance, secure, or add value to the property.
- Embrace technology. We use a variety of apps and online tools for communication. You must be at least moderately tech-savvy.
Responsibilities (Tasks Associated with the Role)
- Routine maintenance: Regular property inspections, move-in and move-out inspections, and monthly or quarterly walkthroughs as needed.
- Repairs and Maintenance: Minor to medium-sized repairs and maintenance to homes and apartments.
- Emergency Response: Be on call to either coordinate with third service providers or ability to handle small emergency requests.
- Recordkeeping: This role requires consistent and meticulous notes for everything completed.

Requirements (Expected Proficiencies)
- Experience: Demonstrable experience in a maintenance role, preferably in the property management sector or construction.
- Technical Proficiency: Able to work independently and handle minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance issues in addition to basic carpentry and finish skills.
- Physical Fitness: Working in various climates, inside and outside, during all 12 months is a must.
- Transportation: Consistent and reliable transportation, in addition to a valid driver's license, is a must. The office is based out of West Asheville. You will start there each day and use the company vehicle to go to properties.
