The Role

As Service Sales Manager you will have overall commercial responsibility for your assigned customers during the sales process, beginning with first contact through contract negotiation, and handover to Operations.


You will own the customer relationship in relation to Offshore Service in the US and be responsible for improving the customer's overall business case based on Vestas' offerings, which you will be expected to provide input on as they continue to develop in relation to emerging market needs. You will be working with a strong internal team who engage with the accounts on various levels and in a department with a flexible and open work environment. You will be joining a wider innovative team of Service Sales Managers both regionally and globally that work together to share learnings and maintain uniformity in customer experience across different markets.


Responsibilities

  • Handle offshore contract negotiations in close collaboration with technical and commercial stakeholders to optimize overall value creation.
  • Participate in and handle aspects of complex tender responses and contract negotiations for new service contracts while monitoring risk exposure, content of commitments based on operational capabilities, and the commercial aspects of the service business.
  • Build, maintain, and improve customer relations and ensure that customer requests and needs are appropriately evaluated and addressed.
  • Create a deep understanding of customers’ portfolios and values to facilitate capture of customers’ business.
  • Actively contribute to the development of the Service Sales Department and service sales offerings, ensuring that the optimal product mix is identified and offered to the customer.
  • Direct or participate in presentations of service sales concepts to existing and new customers.

Essential Functions

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and SAP)
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms
  • Ability to influence across organizational boundaries / with solid focus on working with & understanding different cultures
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration or relevant field, plus five years of commercial experience in an international company.
  • Experience with large, complex projects and transactions.
  • Solid oral communication skills with proven ability to pitch customers.
  • A strategic, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Proven capabilities in problem solving, negotiations and conflict resolution
  • Ability to plan, organize, multi-task, prioritize, and complete assigned workload to meet multiple deadlines. Should be detail oriented.
  • High proficiency with standard IT tools including Microsoft Office, and comfort learning and using new internal IT platforms.
