Responsibilities:
* Coordinates and implements the HSE site-specific plans for start-up and existing Service locations in conjunction with line management. Monitors progress on completion of the site-specific plan.
* Supports site management and provides professional coaching and review of incident investigations and corrective actions through 5 Why and Taproot incident investigation methods.
* Oversees case management of work-related injuries at regional Vestas locations.
* Perform routine audits of service locations and use the results to identify potential risks, communicate deficiency trends, and develop correction plans.
* Liaise between Regional Service Operations Management and HSE Management.
* Represents HSE with Service Operations at customer meetings.
* Interact externally with authorities as necessary.
* Responsible for environmental support to regional Vestas locations.
* Encourage the adoption of HSE programs to reduce injuries across the Vestas locations, with a high focus on soft tissue injury prevention.
* Build organization capability by providing HSE training and development of HSE coordinators to ensure each site within the sub-region has the appropriate technical and functional competencies.
* Participate in the start-up/transition activities of new or expanding Vestas locations.
* Oversee the investigation process of incidents and accidents to determine root causes and prepare/direct corrective and preventive action plans.
* Support line management with the Incident Management System (IMS) to ensure timely investigation and closure of all applicable incidents and action plans.
* Maintains current knowledge of HSE industry best practices and technological developments and equipment to remain up to date on related systems, devices, and techniques designed to eliminate or minimize associated risks. Keeps current on regulatory requirements of HSE for assigned regions.
* High travel position - up to 60%.
Qualifications:

Competencies:
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Industrial Health & Safety, or related equivalent is beneficial.
* Minimum 3 years work experience in general industry, industrial, or construction environmental, health & safety.
* Experience in cultural change and behavior-based safety programs, as well as HSE programs and policies across multiple jurisdictions is beneficial.
* Direct experience with wind industry operations is beneficial.
* Ability to interact with senior leadership, other departments, vendors and customers.
* Experience in applying international EHS standards (ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001) across business units and geographies.
* Experience with TapRoot or other root cause analysis processes.
* Experience with ergonomics, behavioral safety, and a safety culture program is beneficial.
* Understanding of mechanical, electric, and hydraulic systems.
* Experience with cranes, lifting and rigging, safety management systems, control of hazardous energy, confined space requirements, work at heights, and soft tissue injury prevention is beneficial.
* Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and/or Canada without company sponsorship.
* Computer skills necessary include Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and basic skills in SAP.
* Expected to be proficient in working remotely with little to no supervision.
* Ability to audit, and manage global and local standards, have basic knowledge of manufacturing and system function.
