What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Engineer Intern position at Vesuvius USA?
The position will primarily consist of product and part volume calculations and modeling for existing and new customers,
working closely with our sales and manufacturing teams to understand customer needs and provide support for both production and quoting efforts to satisfy those needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process requests for existing or new parts and assemblies.
2. Develop new parts modeled for volume calculation, renderings for inclusion with proposals.
3. Communicate with production and sales teams for accurate and timely delivery of designs.
4. Maintain activity logs, report on key performance indicators like on time project delivery
orders won/lost and similar.
5. Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Skills Required:
- Engineering/Technical background or curriculum
- Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
- Ability to manage activities to meet multiple deadlines
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Familiar with Volume/Density/Weight calculations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor
