We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager with a strong background in manufacturing, union environments, and change management to lead HR functions at our Cleveland site. This role will be instrumental in driving organizational improvements, fostering strong labor relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and collective bargaining agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
Change Management & Organizational Development:
Lead HR initiatives to support organizational changes and continuous improvement.
Partner with leadership to drive cultural enhancements, workforce development, and operational efficiency.
Develop strategies to improve engagement, enhance retention, and foster a high-performance work environment.
Guide managers on effectively communicating and implementing change to ensure smooth transitions.
Labor & Employee Relations:
Manage and foster positive relationships with union representatives, ensuring a collaborative and compliant labor environment.
Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), handling grievances, arbitrations, and contract negotiations as needed.
Support management in effectively handling labor relations issues, providing coaching on union-related matters.
HR Operations & Compliance:
Oversee HR policies, procedures, and programs to ensure alignment with company goals and legal requirements.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including OSHA, FLSA, FMLA, EEO, and NLRB regulations.
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure proper documentation of HR processes.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:
Lead recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried positions, ensuring a strong pipeline of talent.
Develop and execute workforce planning strategies to support business goals and evolving operational needs.
Partner with hiring managers to drive effective talent acquisition and onboarding programs.
Performance Management, Training & Employee Engagement:
Implement and oversee performance management processes, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Develop training and development programs to enhance leadership capabilities, workforce adaptability, and compliance with workplace policies.
Lead employee engagement initiatives, addressing concerns and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Compensation, Benefits & Retention Strategies:
Support competitive compensation strategies and benefits administration, ensuring alignment with industry standards and union agreements.
Analyze workforce trends and HR metrics to drive continuous improvement and long-term stability.
Qualifications & Experience:
5-7 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment (union experience required).
Proven experience in change management, workforce transformation, and cultural shifts.
Strong knowledge of labor laws and union contract administration.
Experience handling grievances, arbitrations, and negotiations.
Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with leadership at all levels.
Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
