Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, clipping, and nail trimming for dogs and cats.
- Assess the condition of each pet's coat and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming services, pet care tips, and any concerns about their pets.
- Handle pets safely using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during grooming.
- Provide additional services such as pet sitting or dog training as needed.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of grooming supplies and equipment.
Experience
- Previous experience in pet care or grooming is preferred but not required; training may be provided for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with animal care practices, including knowledge of different breeds' grooming needs.
- Skills in customer service to build rapport with pet owners and address their concerns effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or moving equipment.
- Experience as a veterinary technician or in a kennel environment is a plus but not mandatory.
