As a Grooming Assistant, you will support our grooming staff in delivering high-quality grooming services while ensuring the safety and comfort of all pets in our care.
Responsibilities
- Assist professional groomers with bathing, drying, and grooming pets.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during grooming procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area, including tools and equipment.
- Provide basic animal care, including feeding and monitoring health.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and services provided.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing client records.
- Support the team in maintaining a safe environment for both pets and staff.
Skills
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during grooming.
- Experience in dog handling and pet sitting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of animal handling practices to promote well-being.
- Familiarity with veterinary assistant duties is a plus.
- Skills in dog training can enhance the grooming experience for pets.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving large dogs or equipment.
- Previous experience in pet grooming or general pet care is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with clients and team members.
