ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF A VET TECH:
- Assist veterinarian with examinations
- Be able to properly care for and handle animals before, during, and after a procedure
- Perform diagnostic imaging
- X-rays, CTs, Ultrasound
- Clean, sterilize, and prepare exam rooms, kennels, and equipment
- Must follow proper procedures
- Maintain medical charts
- Administer treatment & medication to patients
- Professionally communicate basic diagnoses to pet parents
- Ear infections, skin infections, intestinal parasites, etc
- Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure
- Good communication skills
- Be able to manage stressful situations
- Must work well with others
- Adapt to changing environments
