The Kennel Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the animals under our care. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for our patients and assisting with basic animal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and animal housing areas regularly
- Provide food, water, and basic care for animals
- Monitor and report any changes in the animals' behavior or health to the veterinary staff
- Assist with bathing, grooming, and administering medications when necessary
- Help with the safe transport of animals within the facility
- Maintain cleanliness in the hospital, including common areas and exam rooms
- Help restock and maintain an inventory of kennel supplies
- Perform basic laundry and maintenance tasks around the clinic
- High school diploma or equivalent (working towards diploma can also be considered)
- Genuine love for animals and a passion for their well-being
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting up to 50lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience in an animal care or kennel setting is a plus but not required
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
