What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician position at Vetek Labs?
Any Veterinary Technician experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail is required.
Responsibilities include:
Operate and Maintain Chemistry Analyzers
Operate and Maintain Hematology Analyzers
Operate and Maintain Endocrinology Analyzers
Conduct Urinalysis tests, including physical, chemical, and microscopic examination
Apply knowledge of Parasitology to identify and analyze parasites in various samples
Perform ELISA Testing (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay)
Perform IFA Testing (Immunofluorescence Assay)
Perform Blood Slide Evaluation and blood differentials to identify/classify different types cells
Operate Laboratory Information System(i.e. entering patient demographics and testing specifications)
Receives and prepares samples for laboratory analysis and testing and prepares orders for each testing department.
Verify the accuracy of the information including labels, samples and requisition forms.
Restock laboratory supplies as needed.
Strictly observe operating policies, procedures and service schedules physical demands.
Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch.
May be required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds.
Extended hours may be required.
Fluency in the English language.
Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
Robust organization and time management skills to be able to manage all of the work responsibilities.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am to 4:30pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
