What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Veteran Hiring Solutions?
The Mission – Why This Role Exists
At RHI Magnesita’s East Canton plant (formerly Resco), we're building more than refractory products — we're restoring operational excellence, one team at a time. As a Production Supervisor, you will lead a critical zone of manufacturing operations, where safety, quality, and productivity converge. Your mission: foster a culture of precision, resilience, and continuous improvement while building future leaders inside the plant.
Performance Objectives
In your first year leading, success will mean stepping confidently into a hands-on leadership role where people and production move together. You’ll take ownership of a crew of operators, shaping a culture built on collaboration, accountability, and pride in craftsmanship. Day by day, you'll work to reduce waste, eliminate scrap, and strengthen the overall quality of our products by applying best-in-class manufacturing practices.
Your leadership presence on the shop floor will help reinforce a safety-first environment, where proactive communication and quick action prevent incidents before they happen. Production goals will be met not just by chasing numbers, but by building a team that trusts you, understands expectations, and works with purpose every shift. As you grow into this role, you’ll develop and mentor your operators, helping them step up as future leaders within the plant. Every improvement you drive — whether in quality, throughput, or teamwork — will reflect your commitment to excellence.
You’re a Fit If
You believe leadership means being present — showing up first, setting the tone, and staying engaged when challenges arise. You know that coaching and tough conversations aren't obstacles to success; they’re part of building a strong, unified team. You have a natural drive to find better ways of working, and you inspire others to take pride in doing things the right way, not just the easy way.
Requirements
Must have served in the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, Space Force, Reserves, or National Guard.
2–3 years of direct supervisory experience.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and people leadership skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Willingness to work physically in a manufacturing setting (standing, walking, active engagement on shop floor).
Benefits
Full benefits package to include retirement plan.
